Here is a VERY BIG Reason Why Recruiting and Talent Acquisition is Broken

We recently completed a survey across LinkedIn focusing on whether Job Seekers were more or less likely to apply to positions without posted job salary ranges. THE RESULTS WERE SHOCKING
From 3000+ survey respondents
- 50% said the lack of a posted salary range significantly reduces a job seekers interest in applying to new job openings.
- Thirty-Four Percent (34%) said that the lack of a posted salary range somewhat reduces job seekers’ interest in applying to new job openings.
- Only 16% said it didn’t affect a job seeker’s interest in applying to new job openings.
- So, a total of 84% said the lack of a posted salary range either significantly or somewhat influences a job seekers interest
These figures are extremely disturbing!!
Posting salary ranges on job descriptions can be crucial for promoting transparency and trust between employers and potential employees. When companies disclose salary information upfront, it helps candidates make informed decisions about whether to apply for a position, saving time for both parties.
This transparency can also reduce the likelihood of salary negotiations falling through late in the hiring process, as candidates have a clear understanding of the compensation offered. Additionally, it fosters a sense of fairness and equity, as all applicants are aware of the potential earnings, which can help mitigate wage disparities and promote equal pay for equal work.
Moreover, posting salary ranges can enhance a company's reputation and attract top talent. Job seekers are increasingly valuing transparency and honesty from potential employers, and companies that provide clear salary information are often viewed more favorably. For employers, the absence of salary ranges can result in a smaller and less diverse applicant pool.
Many qualified candidates may choose not to apply if they are unsure about the compensation, leading to missed opportunities to attract top talent. Furthermore, it can prolong the hiring process, as salary negotiations may become more contentious and time-consuming without a clear starting point. This lack of transparency can also damage the company's reputation, making it harder to build trust with current and potential employees, ultimately affecting employee morale and retention. There are currently now only 5 states that have implemented mandatory requirements from posting salary ranges. These include California, Colorado, New York, Washington State, and Most recently Minnesota
So, I want you all to think about this. Companies are losing the interest of 84% of job seekers just because they didn’t post a salary range which means they are most likely missing out on attracting the absolute best candidates.
On the flip side, because 84% of job seekers simply don’t apply (even though it might be a good position) just because the salary ranges are not posted. There seems to be such an easy fix
"Just Post The Salary Ranges"
